Dear FTG developers, I'm not here to complain about volleyball, the overpower of the headers outside the box, the blindness of the speedy players, or the fact that no one is free to experiment and play with a formation he likes because he will likely lose, and that losing 40 stars is just too much and discourage any attempt of change of tactics, bringing everybody to rely on the same players: Wich, by the way, are all things that should be fixed.
I'm here to ask more details on the AI. Since I, and thousand of other players, spend money in your game, season pass and occasionally other offers or packages in the shop, your vague description of the AI in the Core principles section are just not enough.
You say: "We also think that these elements of unpredictability and luck reflect the true nature of competitive sports in general – where crazy results constantly happen that defy logic." and "Matches will get more competitive and a game’s AI will become more demanding. But it will, at all times, be fair to the individual player and to any opponent." Fine.
But other games are more clear about these aspects, if you dig in the specifics. For example in Fifa this has a specific name, DDA (dynamic difficult adjustmet), and it's written how it works: if you score a goal in the first minute, your players will have 5% of accuracy less, if you score 2 goals, it's 10%, etc. very detailed.
It's a matter of fairness regard paying customers: I would like to have the details of how your AI works, inside a game, inside a day, inside a week.
It is really frustrating and infuriating when on a given day your players are simply dumb, do not keep any position, aim their passes in the nothingness, tackle 5 virtual meters far from the opponent, run outside the field, cannot stop a ball. Players that two days before were just fine. Keep in mind, it's ok with me if they had this moment each now and then, it's natural and logical, but the winning and losing streak are on everybody's mouth, and are persistent. And fouls, of course, totally arbitrary. I am talking, needless to say, of high level players and super players, 9 and 10. Please don't tell me that is a matter of perception because it would be an offence to my intelligence. I observe it when it's against me or at my favour, even 'tho, maybe I'm unlucky, most of the time it's against me. But even if it was more in my favour, that would be unfair to the opponent. Skills should be of the essence.
I spent time and money to make my players grow, bring them to a full max team, and seeing them for days catching butterflies, seeing my opponents level 6 speedster jump over my 10 commander, or a level 6 guard outrunning my jet, I could make dozens of examples, over and over, well, it's not fair.
And I know the charcters, the response, the factors about reaction, strenght, I am a good player, but the game TOO OFTEN plays against me. The Artificial Intelligence doesn't seem so random, it's like a long flux of luck and bad luck, and it's just too invasive. Your skills as a player are reduced, if not insignificant, so what's the point of making them grow. I repeat myself: It's a matter of FAIRNESS and transparency to your customers, and that should be an important priority to you, as a leading company.
So please, give us more specific and technical details of how your AI works, percentages, how it is applyed in the two minutes, or inside a longer period of time.
