How do I unlock a new formation?

To unlock a new formation you have to go through two steps. First, collect enough of the same formation cards to unlock it, then go to your squad > formation screen and tap that formation, then unlock it for use using the relevant amount of Bux.

Please note that different formations require different quantities of cards and Bux to unlock.
